L-The layout of the page follows the typical conventions of a music magazine, for example the headlines are based on the left hand side and there us a image related to the main feature of the magazine, as well as this there is a small section of text giving an indication as to what the article is about, this draws the audience in and encourages them to read on. One of the other conventions is to have multiple thumbnail images on the contents page. This is in line with the conventions as it contains numerous images. There is no real use of think black bold font on this contents page, nor is there any use of highlighting main features. The font is a serif font; this gives the impression of maturity and professionalism. The rolling stone logo is found at the top right hand side of the page, this goes against typical media conventions as it in normally placed on the left. My logo shall be placed on the left inline with the conventions. The colour scheme used throughout the magazine is predominantly red, black and white. The consistency of the colour scheme gives a professional feel to the magazine and sets the standards, giving the viewer the impression that the professional layout also means well written articles to match the appearance. The Red, White and Black colour scheme is one used through most indie/ pop magazine. Colour’s such as red has certain connotations such as anger passion and aggression. The predominant colour in the colour scheme however is white not red, this gives it a more mature appearance. The limited use of the colour red also helps give the mature vibe of the magazine; it eliminates the impression of teenage angst and youth that other magazines give. White also has connotations of purity and sophistication. The headlines have small red bold lines drawing attention to the articles and creating order by segregating the headlines rather then it been a mass of headlines.

I- This is a contents page from Rolling stone magazine, Rolling stone is produced by Jann Simon Wenner. The magazine covers mainstream, pop and indie. As well as politics and film, it also features music articles and interviews.
I-  The ideology of Rolling stone music magazine is to inform and to entertain in the world of music and politics. Rolling Stones offers a range of successful artists with articles and interviews about them.  The magazine predominantly features more mainstream artists as they attract a bigger fan basis, therefore drawing in more potential buyers. As well as this the magazine has to move with the times in order to be successful.
A-   The audience for Rolling stone magazine is aged between 20-30. although the magazine features mainstream artists that are enjoyed by both genders, they are often features in a provocative and suggestive manner, the sexuality of some of the front covers often suggests that the magazine is aimed more towards men.

R- The contents page represents itself in a professional manor with the running colour scheme throughout the pages; also the segregation on the headlines also creates an orderly mannor of finding the articles you wish to read. This in turn gives it a more mature appearance. It represents the genre the music magazine represents and the age bracket the magazine is aimed at. The use of white helps to create a sense of sophistication and the subtle use of red to highlight things such as features helps to draw attention to the articles without over using it giving the impression of teenage rebellion and angst.
