L- The text on the double page spread looks as though it has been cut out and placed together, this gives the impression of rebellion and that they don’t care. This ties in with the genre of NME magazine as rebellion is part of the genre they are representing and is shown in the colour scheme and layout of their magazine. As well as this the white font against the black background of the lettering creates a contrast and makes it stand out, this is eye catching and will capture the audience’s attention. The black, red and white colour scheme as shown on the double page spread is consistent as it is also used on the cover that also features Lily Allen, this helps to maintain a professional appearance throughout the magazine even if the presentation of the font suggests otherwise. The image on the double page spread is that of Lily Allen, she is wearing a red, black and white checked shit this also ties in with the colour scheme of the magazine. As well as this Lily Allen is in many ways supporting the anti-image, this also ties in with the genre and representation the magazine, as like the genre Lily is rebelling against all things main stream by rebelling against conventional high street clothing. Although Lily’s name is not mentioned within the main headline we can tell that the article will be about her by the large image of her on the right hand side and how it dominates the page. Another indication of this is the links between the colour scheme used throughout the magazine to the clothes that lily Allen is wearing. The large title makes the article seem more visually appealing as it dominates the majority of the page making the text seem more manageable to read.

I-institution of NME magazine is IPC media; it publishes a range of different magazines. NME is one of the most successful weekly magazines and reaches over a million viewers each week.
I-NME is an indie rock magazine, the genre of indie rock helps to represent rebellion and the anti- image of mainstream music and fashion. Unlike in most magazines NME is not concerned with celebrity gossip and high fashion, it is all about the music and the artists. NME support both up and coming new bands and artists as well as well as successful older bands and artists related to the genre.
A-The target audience for this particular double page spread Is Lily Allen fans, people who have an interest in her or her honest sometimes frank and occasionally offensive opinion of life etc. People interested in the indie rock music genre may also read this article a she is well known and respected within the genre.
R- Lily Allen’s personality is portrayed well within the imagery used in the article, anyone who knows anything about Lily Allen will know she is not known for been at all girly, feminine or classy, she is however rebellious, childish and outrageous. This is represented well both by the colour scheme, font and the clothes she is wearing. All of this goes against mainstream society and the corporate world.
