Music genre

The music genre I have chosen for my magazine to focus upon is Indie rock, indie rock goes against conventional mainstream mass produced music with their repetitive beats and un- imaginative lyrics. Magazines that currently cover this genre are NME, Clash and Q magazine. Although Q magazine feature bands that have become more mainstream and successful they still incorporate the indie genre and lifestyle.

Indie and indie rock presents itself rebellious.

Q magazine makes 12 issues a year (one a month) and is the UK’s bestselling music magazine.

I am looking at IPC. This Publishes magazine’s such as NME, the genre on NME is indie/ rock and alternative. They feature artists such as Lilly Allen, Pete Doherty, Blur and The cure.
